Where do you think I am from (Pics Included)?

I was born in Canada, but I was given up for adoption shortly after. I don't have the slightest idea where I'm from, and neither does my adoptive parents.

Here I am:

Please give any opinions, I'm really quite desperate to know. I sort of feel as if I've lost part of my cultural identity, just by not knowing. I hope someone here understands exactly what it is I mean.

  1. i say somewhere in southeast africa(your stench)

  2. You look like your average attractive white chick.

  3. ur part italian...i know that much.

  4. Italian (your nose) and perhaps mixed with brazilian or colombian.

  5. I'd guess southern Italian...which could mean anything in the Med region.  Genetic testing could tell the expensive truth.

  6. You are a very pretty young girl, I agree with the other posts, you look italian or brazilian. I don't think French. You or your parents should be able to get non identifying info, my birthdaughter always knew she was english/native american and german/lithouanian. What a combo. She's beautiful too.

  7. Maybe italian......Yoiu look exactly like a famous actor!!!!!!!!!!

You are probably italian, Columabian definitely!!...How does your voice sound like? Maybe French.......................Most probably....You are definitely Italian!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely italian...Final answer....

    Ask your Guy freinds.

  8. I want to extend my greatest amount of empathy, because I remember the days of passing around my pictures and asking strangers if they could "guess" what race I could possibly be because that was the closest I could get to knowing the truth.

It is the most degrating, sense of lonliness and lack of self that I have lived with. I hated it.

About this same time if i saw a women that looked like me I would walk up to her and ask her if she had given a child up for adoption, and if she could possibly be my mother. I was looking for a "miracle."

I am sorry you are at this point. I have been there. It isn't fun.

Do you get non id in canada? alot of provinces up there havee open records i'm sure you've looked into this, but if you haven't DO SO.

google canadian adoptees and you will find some valuble links for you to use.

be sure to sign up with the www.isrr.net and maybe youll get a match. You were born in canada, what information do you have from your adoption agency?

come on over to www.adultadoptees.org you'll find others who know what it feels like.

    hugs!

  9. I would say southern European. French, Italian,  Greek, Spanish, or a combination of any these nationalities.

  10. Gosh its hard to tell. its sad that they dont' have some information. i realize that sometimes they didn't get information and it was very secret. i mean there back then it was quiet time and no one was told and that means you would never hear from them again. i am not sure its you have parents or one or two that aren't married. its hard tos ay. do they have your real name you can write to canada if you could maybe department where they handle adoptions and maybe it is start you need i am sure there has to be paper trail somewhere. you just have to start looking and asking questions. good luck yes, know exactly how you fee. its nice to know you have roots and where they are from. did you kow there is certain blood disease that affects whole entire generations way down. my moms (adopted mom) family settled in canada for some generations before they came to theU.States.  anyhow the generic name is thrombofilia. its a blood disorder that for some unexplained reason is found up there in canada. all of moms relatives have it and all of her borthers and sisters had one form or another of this. you have to take a special test and it requires 24 files of blood. mom has sticky plallets and she also has a rare sid eof it can't spell it anyhow it causes strokes and all of her family died of it one way or another and now the kids have it they have all been tested and they are in 50's and a60's so beware of this and have yourself checked.

  11. You are beautiful!

My guess would be as good as anyone elses, but still just a guess. You won't know for sure inless you do some type of dna testing.  The national geographic geno project might be a good place to start! It can be used to see where your ancestors came from, with a quick swab of your cheek cells!

  12. you could be WHITE or PERSIAN

  13. Either Native American or Native Canadian with French.

You are very pretty as all we Indians are.

  14. i say canadian, braziliam maybe. get tested. they can take sme DNA and tell you what you are.

  15. I understand that you may want to find your biological parents, but as far as your "culture" goes, you are living it. Just remember that your ethnic origins really don't matter. I'm supposedly Irish, German, Austrian and Polish. What does that mean? Nothing really. No part of that is involved in my life. I'm American. Most of my ancestors are dead. The stories I've heard really don't have anything to do with me.

I just don't want you growing old thinking your missing out on a part of your life. You're not. Your parents are who helped you grow into who you are. Research their past because it's also yours. Research what you like but don't feel like you aren't complete if you don't find anything out. We're all searching for answers that are never quite found, except in God. :) Take care!

  16. i think you kinda look southern european or of white/first nation /native american heritage.

a friend of mine is from Lebanon and has some simular features also look at Jamie Farr he too is lebanese.

but to know for sure there is a genetic test, it costs between 120 and 320$.

  17. You look brazilian! The whole Gezelle Thing! Verry cut pics too!

  18. You are definateley from Canadian decent. they have noses like yours, if i had a second guess i'd say Italian. good luck, and thank your parents for me. they did very well raising you.

  19. Italian or Greek. YOU'RE SOOOO PRETTY. i was adopted too and i dont know where im from. Sucks.

  20. Adoption secrecy sucks - every citizen should be entitled to know their ancestry

I can't add much to what has already been said.  If you apply for non-identifying information the chances are good that your heritage information will be on there (I only discovered I have Irish ancestry at the age of 36!)

Failing that, familytreedna.com can narrow it down with a dna test (I did this too, and it confirmed my Irish ancestry)

    Good luck

  21. Your culture is how you were raised, the traditions of your family.    You are very beautiful.  I think maybe part Italian and possibly French.  If you haven't contacted the adoption agency in Canada you might want to try that.  They might at least have your mothers  ethnicity listed. Good luck

  22. Its hard to say but maybe you have some Jewish in you. You might get an ancestry dna test done.

  23. You look Greek to me... it's the nose.  You are very pretty

  24. perhaps muslim or brazillian. either way you are really pretty!!!

  25. i say you look serbian

  26. you look like a normal white girl to me.

I think your most likely jewish.

  27. How can these people tell where you are from by a photo? You could be from New Jersey or New York for all they know or IOWA! Just because you have dark hair and a nose means nothing.  Wow I was considering adopting but if it means that all children will feel like you do later on in life and what I do means nothing to you until you find your birth mother, then maybe I'll just consider China or a nation where they know their true roots.

What a slap in the face to your adoptive family.

  28. My best guess is you have some Italian ancestry.  You look very much like many Italians I know.
