Question:

Where do you think each side, the people and the government, are dropping the ball on accountability?

It seems THE prevailing issue that is impacting our country is the lack of accountability. We want to assume none and that goes from the people all the way up to the government. I think the issues are symptoms of the greater issue of accountability. The governed have accountability, as does the governor. Are we on the right track or where can we be more accountable, and what are we accountable for?

  1. The people in government don't even know there is a ball to drop. When their fingers are pointing in every direction it's hard to catch the ball!

  2. Control of currency. Control in the hands of citizens with seprate trade designs as a back up or just out and out done provides accountability. Robbery does not occur for the reason people can just make their own money instead of robbing a store for example. Even if the suspect in the robbery is innocent to be able to make a personal legal money supply would help the suspect. Pay lawyer fees. Others. There is the question  of tax payments though.

  3. the voters take the blame here. they let bush have a second term through foul means because they were so panicked  over g*y marriage. the red necks voted for hillary not because they liked her record but because they were ignorant bigots who didn't want to vote for a black man. women also take responsibility for voting in her woman abusing husband TWICE on account of his s*x appeal and voting for hillary inspite of the underhanded way she ran this campaign and lied to us over and over.

  4. I'm actually really glad that you brought this question/observation up here.  It's something that I have been contemplating lately and I must say that the lack of accountability is really quite sickening anymore.

I think you hit the nail on the head when you said "The governed have accountability, as does the governor." Although the "governed" do elect representatives and are accountable for the vote they cast, I believe that the representatives should ultimitely be held to the higher standard.  I don't want to imply that the accountability which voters hold is not important.  It absolutely is!  It just seems to me, however, that when a candidate has plead a case before a constituency as to why he/she would be most qualified to represent their concerns and interests, and then goes to the city, state or even to Washington and listens only to lobbyists with an agenda or issue completely different to those which the candidate built a platform on - well that is downright wrong!  Those guilty representatives need to be held accountable by an "educated" citizenry.  It is our right and duty hold these men and women accountable and until we do, I fear our downward spiral of morality and accountability will continue until there is nothing left of it to speak of.

I read about the founding fathers of this nation almost on a daily basis.  I love the passion with which these GREAT men spake!  I love the morality and character they exhibited when framing this government.  Their interest was THE PEOPLE!  They cared.  These are men who were accountable for their actions and words.  They are our examples and it seems that they are being forgotten!

It would be refreshing indeed to hear of a politician who actually stuck to each of the promises made while campaigning, which got him/her elected in the first place.

I am optimistic, however!  I am optimistic that mankind is inherently good.  I am optimistic that we as a society of the greatest nation ever found on earth will wake up! I believe that good things are in store for us. If we remember where we came from as a nation, we will understand better where it is we need to go from here.  Let us begin by being accountable for ourselves to those depending on us!
