  1. To answer Shilo9i's question. Because they thought this was to recycle a metal file, rather than a computer file. So did I until I read the full question.

Where did your file go. It should have returned to the original place it was. However, computers do wild things sometime. Keep looking in all your files and I feel sure you will find it. Sorry I can't help more.

  2. If you restored it, it was supposed to go back to the place from where you first deleted it.

  3. I know what it is like to lose important pics.

Some files, if they are too large, get incinerated rather than deleted (Depends on certain settings within your system)

You might try doing a search for ' *.jpg ' (sans quotes). Thats ' star fullstop JPG '

    That should find it.

IF NOT there are several good UNDELETE progs available for free. Try Tucows or Cnet for free downloads.

  4. "Global warming" didn't eat it, of that I can tell you!

Click the 'Start' button, then 'Search', click on files and folders and enter the name of it, or at least one or two words.

This will help you find your lost file hopefully.

  5. As everyone has said the file should be put back in the folder you deleted it from. If you cant find it Click on "Start" "Search" "All Files & Folders"  then enter the file name in the first box. Click on the Seach box at the bottom and the system will find the file for you... if it still exists on your system.

If the file is not found try entering just the first 3 or 4 characters of the file name and then "Search". So if you have got the file name slightly wrong the system has a chance of finding it off the first few characters.

    Good Luck.
