Where do you think the world will end up with todays growing technology?

Technology won't be of any use to anyone when the world is all carbon dioxide and nothing can grow in it.  If earth heats up another 4 or 5 degrees we will be there.  In the next decade if we do all we can NOW perhaps we will only reach a 1 degree rise...but within 50 years it's quite possible to see 4 and 5 degree rises if we don't RADICALLY alter our lifestyles.  Life as we know it now will not be the same when oceans rise 20 feet and half the planet is under sea and that is not a movie, it's fact....preventable fact, but only if humans do what they should to save the planet.

i would like to think we will evolve into ACTUAL adults,capable of reactions to any given situation a little less like kindergarten children.....because that's about the level we're at.....oh, and i hope we don't get flying cars on the way there.....could you imagine the chaos if all those rotten week-end drivers were above the ground,not just on it ? ....( shudder....)

I think that oil and rainforests will be gone.  We will have flying cars that go 200 MPH running on landfill biomatter that get 100 miles to the gallon.  I think that we will lose the important things in life like plants, and paintings, and art, and replace them with things with no beauty.  The world will be filled with greed and we will have new inventions that will do everything for you.  We will have bluetooth embedded in our brains.  The ozone layer will be gone.  I will probably be your president.  We would have already fought WWIII, and nuclear fallout would kill 98% of the people on the planet.  All of todays growing technology would be lost.  And we would have to start all over.  Then 1000 years later, people-like creatures will study how we killed each other through WWIII and laugh at how idiotic homo-sapiens were.

As far as cutting emssions on cars and efficiency on electronics, I think we're going why too dang slow.  It's because people only car about money first rather than have something that's efficient and last long.

If we continue at this rate, it will be the end of the world soon. People don't care much about the environment and planet Earth, instead the only thing they care about is their own material needs and stuff like that. If we continue to live on with reckless living and wasting a lot that we could have cut down on, we will soon be in big trouble.

We must admit the importance of protecting the environment and then use our technology to develop things that are more energy efficient and conserving in order for us to strive and make world a better place.
