My family have old computer monitors, VCR places, keyboards, computer mouses, stereo systems, wires, etc.

Where do you get rid of all this?

  1. It depends on where you live. The website www.ban.org has national information, www.texastakeback.com has Texas-based info, and if you're in Houston, just go to any Goodwill.

  2. Go to this website: http://www.eiae.org/  and it will ask you for your state and etcetera and it will show you the location of the nearest municipal facility to which you can take/ship your e-waste to.

Around my community a recycling truck comes around a few times a week. If the same is true for you, perhaphs you could leave it out with your recycled material. Hope that you'll find a place!

  3. If they are still working, I would try and earn money on ebay, sell to friends, or have a garage sale. You can also help others by donating to charity!  That way they will have a new home and will not go to waste in a landfill.

If they are not working, then you need to find a recycling center that takes electronics. You can look in the phone book or internet. Some electronic stores will also take them but sometimes there is a fee. I would not toss in trash as all electronic equipment from cell phones to televisions contain toxins in them. I hope this helps
