Where does 911 find its stupid people that answer the emergency phones there? Recently a woman here in?

Florida awoke to find a 9 foot Alligator in her kitchen! She called 911 and told the Operator about it and the 911 Operator asked her if she was sure it was not an Iguana!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean just how freaking dumb can you get????????????

It is the job of the 911 operator to weed out the less important calls.  She has probably received calls from people who were freaking out about an alligator just to find out it was something smaller like an Iguana.  I listened to the tape, and while it seems like she was being rude to the woman, she just had to make sure it was a real situation before sending out the police.  

Remember, there are a lot of stupid people out there that wouldn't be able to tell the difference; or that would just be calling in a joke.  They have to deal with that everyday.  Give the girl a break.

I wonder if the police showed up ?   You can call the police and wait 45 min (no joke)  and still not have anyone show up on a Sunday afternoon.

There are dumb people in all public service branches. Why just single out one of them? Also, I didn't hear the call, so it is very likely the person who called was hysterical and the operator was trying to get the person to rationalize the situation and calm down. People turn house cats into jaguars and dogs into bears, or whatever else their imagination allows.
