Where does Kobe rank on your "best ever" list?

I know he is only 29, but he must already be in the top-50 greatest players ever.

I would put him in the top-25...what do you guys think?

I don't want Kobe haters who say he sucks (DMAN X-Factor ect.) and I don't want Kobe lovers who say better then MJ (Granny Curser MC ect.)

Realistic fans.

  1. I have a lot of respect for Kobe's game, but he's no where near my top 25. Statistically it's not even a question he's not in the top 25- maybe 50. I have him 35-50.

  2. Top 10

MJ, Wilt, Russell, Magic, Duncan, Shaq, Kareem, then Kobe or Oscar

I put Kobe behind Duncan because Duncan has 4 rings where he was the main guy.  Also, TNT did a piece during the 2006 All-Star game and predicted "The Next 10" in response to the 1996 50 Greatest of All Time.  The number one player was Duncan, then Kobe, then AI.  There you go.

  3. I'd say top 15 of all time, he'd be about about 11th on my list there are 10 other players who I'd rank above him(not that I don't think he is a great player, because he is a talented player), on my current players list he is number one by a huge margin. Bryant has the most titles of any NBA player currently so he would the number one at the top of my current player greatness list. He would be number 11 in my greatest of all time list because I rank them stats and titles won. I think when he is done, he will be in the top 10 greatest, I just think he will win one more.

  4. hes ranked on my best ever list of 50 at #10 but to me hes not the best player playing right now because my role model kevin garnett is number 5

  5. pretty close to he's probably close to the bottom of my favorite list

  6. its hard to say, kobe is likely going to be adding a lot of achievements and awards before he retires so that makes it a whole different ball game

    with  that being said though...

when a great player comes along, your just so amazed by what he does on the court and how he plays you kinda dont consider what his legacy will ever be, you just are thankful you got to see a player like that play.

as for the list..."he's up there"

  7. I not on the Kobe Bryant bandwagon but he is in the top 15 if he retired today. Once he starts racking up ALL-TIME numbers later on in his career then he can move up on the rankings. As far as where he will end up.. I say top 10 maybe top 5. He will not be the greatest player of all time unless he starts piling on more championships.

  8. I think he'll fit in my top 20, because he's almost the carbon copy of my favorite player of all-time (Jordan).

    My top players are:

    1. Jordan, 2. Magic, 3. Bird, 4. Wilt, 5. Bill Russell, 6. Oscar Robertson, 7. Shaquille O'Neal, 8. Tim Duncan, 9. John Stockton, 10. Scottie Pippen, 11. Hakeem Olajuwon, 12. Karl Malone, 13. Clyde Drexler, 14. George Mikan, 15. Bob Cousy, 16. Elgin Baylor, 17. Jerry West, 18. George Gervin, 19. Walt Frazier... then Kobe Bryant. He is 29 and can improve more but he's there on my list, although a move to Europe might affect my perception of him...

    Hope this helps.

  9. actually i really like the way you put everything, including the no haters or jockers part.

i agree top 25 definitely, but he has a few years left during his prime, if he leads teams to a FEW more championships, he has the potential to jump up to top 5...maybe.

  10. I'm not a big Kobe fan, but he's definitely in my top 5.

NO ONE will ever be as good as Jordan, but Kobe is going to be the closest one by the time his career is over.

  11. If he stopped playing right now, I would put him in the top 15...maybe even in the top 10. But, as you said, he's only 29...so he's far from retiring now. I think that he'll be in the top 5 for sure when he retires for good. He's a pretty awesome player, and I'm sure he'll be remembered as a legend for future generations.

  12. Kobe would be in top ten for me

  13. bottom of the list dead last

  14. i would put kobe maybe just inside the top 20 ... top 30 most deffinately. if i had more time i would compile a list until i got to him but im in a rush. however he at this stage in his career is nowhere near the likes of jordan, magic, bird, russell, wilt ... infact i could almost go as far as putting pippen above him. maybe not. but itd be close. theres more to basketball greatness than stats, rings dont really show it either as you pointed out with ewing.

ok so found a bit more time. heres my list until i get to kobe (i may miss some players but its a rough go at it)

    1. jordan, 2. magic, 3. bird, 4. oscar robertson 5. wilt 6. bob cousy 7. shaq 8. kareem 9. pistol pete 10. hakeem, 11. duncan 12. thomas 13. clyde, 14. patrick ewing, 15. stockton, 16 karl malone, 17. moses malone 18. julius erving, 19. sir charles, 20. pippen, 21. KOBE ... sorry if i missed a few players im sure that i did ... but that just goes to show currently i dont even believe kobe to be inside the top 20 ... although as i said he is close ...

  15. not hatin but to me 65-60 range

  16. not on the list at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Right now in the top 10. If he wins a couple more titles and MVPs then top 5 or even top 3.

  18. Kobe's top 50 for sure. Personally, he's on my top 10 list behind Jordan, Wilt, Kareem, Magic, Bird, Dr. J, Big-O...

  19. top five, behind MJ, Magic, Bird, Russell and oscar

  20. I list him in top 10 all time and the best scorer ever and I am not even a laker fan but he is flat out ridiculous.

  21. Actually he is the 2nd player in NBA history with the highest scoring points in a game (81 points)...something that Jordan never accomplished.

  22. Top 20 ABSOLUTELY

    Top 15 Okay

    Top 10 Ahh...

    Top 5 Nope.

  23. He can be anywhere on the list after Chris Paul.

  24. Kobe is good but toooo selfish.  If hed share the ball a bit his potential is limitless. That said, Id rate him in the top 30, MJ is 1, L James is already approaching Kobe status and should surpass him in a year or two.  James is more team oriented like MJ...

  25. i don't have him in the top 50 because........

HE CANT DO IT WITH OUT SHAQ!!!
