Question:

Where does McCain get his ideas about what healthcare is like today?

He said the democrats want to put a bureaucrat between us and our docotors. Well I have a very good private health insurance plan and I just spent this afternoon talking to one of their bureaucrats who thinks my kid doesn't need any more physical therapy even though her surgeon says she does.

How out of touch can the Republicans get?

  1. >>Well I have a very good private health insurance plan and I just spent this afternoon talking to one of their bureaucrats<<

Theoretically, you could switch to another private health insurance company. If there is only one company -- the government -- where are you going to go if they think your kid doesn't need more physical therapy? And what if it is like Canada, where private services are illegal so you can't even pay out of your own pocket to have your daughter treated? Will you have to take her out of the country, like Canadians do?

  2. If you have very good insurance, you would not need to speak to a bureaucrat to continue your daughters benefit of PT.  If Healthcare were universal, as Obama describes, ALL healthcare would be like what ou experienced today.  free enterprise in that market would be gone.  Doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals would be paid so little and overworked that they would either quit or not care.  THe reason for this is because they will be sharing their pay with the pay of the bureaucrats that will be hired to oversee them and oversee costs.

EDIT:  No, Info Police, you do have a choice.  You can purchase your own coverage with any insurance coverage.  It would be considered a private plan.  Once you are insured with your own health ins, simply drop coverage with your emplyer.  Typically, self insurance is more costly.  However, you can use your share to pay for your current employer plan to offset the new expense.  Good Luck!
