I have searched the web but have foudn barely any information at all. It seems this is one area that people don't seem too concerned with.

In any case, does anyone know: Where does NYC get its electricity from? Are there power plants in NYC itself, or is electricity obtained elsewhere? What goes on in the Con Edison sites in NYC? What are substations? And most importnatly, why is there SO LITTLE information on any of this online?
