A commentator mentioned at Wimbledon that Tennis is ranked No 2 (the second most popular game) in several countries in the world,, and is ranked No 1 (the most popular game) in Australia.

I wanted to hear from you where tennis stands. Please do mention the name of your country as well. Thanks!

  1. haha, my fellow american put arena football above tennis....

    its so true.

Its about dead last in american sports.

  2. I am from Serbia, and it really depends how successful we are at some sport, it use to be basketball, soccer and so on, noone really cared much about tennis, but since Djokovic, Ivanovic and Jankovic showed up I think you could say its No1 sport atm, since  we are really bad in basketball and soccer atm.

Btw, I don't have any statistics or such, just my opinion.

  3. i think baseball is much more popular then tennis in the U.S.A

  4. I'm  from America

    #2-Baseball

    #3-Basketball

    #4-College Sports

    #5-Nascar

    #6-Wrestling

    #7-Golf

    #8-Arena Football

    #9-Soccer

    #10-Tennis

  5. Lebanon-

    Soccer

    Tennis

  6. yeah.. tennis is not that popular in the U.S. :(

  7. Townie is right. Im from Scotland and i think im the only one who follows all the tennis tournaments all year round ! hehe I love tennis its an amazing game :) ! We very rarely here the sport tennis until wimbledon comes around, so i guess the UK isnt very popular with that sport. !!!

  8. usa- tennis isnt that popular. baseball, basketball, football.

  9. Well in the US not very high. People don't take the game seriously, saying anybody can play it. I soo disagree!

  10. im from england and tennis is only ever mentioned in uk when wimbeldon is on so not realy that hight realy

  11. Tennis and Soccer are growing in the US.  The current generation of kids driven by soccer moms is going to shift the tide. I guess it depends what part of the country you're from to determine that.

In NYC baseball and tennis are pretty big as far as viewers.  American Football is BORING. They play for 2 minutes and then have a cafe clatch. Boring. I like sports that MOVE constantly, like basketball, soccer, or tennis. Other than that its a snooze fest.
