In my opinion Ty Cobb is the greatest of all time. Disregarding character flaws, where do you rank him?

  1. You can't possibly compare all the great players that have played baseball in the past 100 years. Ruth, Mantle, DiMaggio, Cobb, Gehrig, Foxx, Cy Young, Jackson, Robinson, Williams, etc. It's impossible to say that one person stands above all the rest of them, especially when you're talking about legends like them.

  2. I rank Cobb 2nd...right after Babe Ruth.

  3. 1. Babe Ruth

    2. Nolan Ryan

    3. Cy Young

    4. Ty Cobb

    5. Adrian "Cap" Anson

  4. I would say

    Ruth

    Aaron

    then maybe Cobb

  5. He's in top 10 however I think Babe Ruth was better

  6. I give him #2, and Ruth #1. The guy was a jerk though (that's being polite).

  7. Top 10

  8. Hard to argue with 12 batting titles, a .367 career batting average, and 4189 hits.  The Sporting News has him as #3 all-time, behind Babe Ruth (#1) and Willie Mays (#2).

  9. i consider him in the top 3, but i really dont order the best of the best.  I think its hard to name who's better out of babe ruth, ty cobb, stan musial and such.  They all played different positions, had different styles, stan had to fight in the war which hurt his stats.  So if you asked me, i would just say, top 3.  Lifetime average is crazy and he did it in such an unconventional way (where he held the bat).

  10. 1st.  And if not first then 2nd by a hair.  Definately greatest hitter though.

  11. Top five, maybe Top three.

  12. Top 5
