Where does a radiologist work?

if i become a radiologist then will i have to (just like a dentist or orthodontist) open up my own practice or will i be able to work in a hospital or another persons clinic/practice. I just want to know where they work whether it is in:

Their own practice/clinic

Another persons clinic/practice

A Hospital

  1. Most, if not all radiologists work in a hospital. They have a "reading room". They sit in a chair, in the dark, looking at radiologic images all day. Some do procedures, such as "interventional radiologists" who use fluoroscopy to stop bleeding vessels, or inject medications or dyes into the spine.  


  2. Radiologists don't have their own practices because they are responsible for diagnosis alone.

    Most work in hospitals, but I can't see any reason why they wouldn't work in a medical centre.
