  1. Detroit is America's a**s.

  2. Chicago's sewer system includes many treatment plants that eventually send the treated effluent into four main rivers: the Mississippi, the Illinois, the Des Plaines and the Chicago.  The Chicago River was redirected and it receives a huge amount of the total waste.  There are seven main treatment plants.  Waste water does not flow directly into Lake Michigan but beaches along the shores of the lake are often contaminated and fouled.  Milwaukee does send its waste water into Lake Michigan and is often blamed for being a major contaminator.  Because Chicago is very flat and very low lying heavy rainfalls can sometimes overwhelm the sewer system.  The total system really is an engineering feat as rivers needed to be diverted, huge treatment plants built and many older sections of the city were actually raised up to accommodate tunnels that needed to be built above the natural water table.

  3. well... drive by the waste treatment plant... and notice the very green grass next to it

  4. depends what you mean by 'c**p' if you mean rubbish then a lot of it has ended up in the Pacific Ocean where there is a HUGE (millions of square kilometres) of rubbish, plastic bags floating around in a circle with the help of the currents......
