Where does all that polar ice go when it melts?

I've had 20 inches of rain on my house in the last three days, so I'm guessing most of it is right here... What did I do that it's targeting me?

  1. Have you ever frozen a can of cola?  If you have, you know that water expands when it freezes.

So why would the water go anywhere after it has been thawed?

If anything, wouldn't the sea level go down?

  2. in the ocean

  3. Where does the water go?

In George Bushe's but because he isn't gonna do anything about glodbal warming, and he hasn't even started.

Pretty mad eh? No one likes that donkey.

    Well actually....

It end up in the ocean, where else?

    No...

It end up in georges but, where else?

  4. Strangely enough, what happens first, is large chunks of ice drift into the Ocean, until the temperature of the Ocean goes down so far, much of the warm water aquatic life will pass. Then, after some decades the entirety of the Earth will grow warmer, and exponentially so. This is because, as it gets warmer, more ice will melt, as more ice melts, there's less of it to regulate the temperature of the Earth.

  5. When the polar ice melts and more water is put in the ocean or other bodies of water it also evaporates into water vapor and clouds.  That is partly why some areas of the Maldives are actually seeing the water go down and not up like scientists originally thought would happen with computer models.  Nature is so dynamic and cause and effect cannot always be predicted with the computer models.  One scientists went to study this expanding oceans theory thinking he would find a shrinking coastline and instead he found a shrinking ocean.  Some parts of the oceans and glaciers are warmed through underwater volcanic activity and it releases the freshwater into the atmosphere where it falls as rain in some areas and snow in others.  Unfortunately with warming or cooling there is always one area or another that will bear the brunt of mother nature's changes.

  6. u been a bad boy so it fell on ur house

  7. Better build an ark and start collecting animals.

  8. I'm getting some of it here too. There it was floating in my rum and coke.

  9. The Earth is punishing you for leaving a " carbon footprint ".

It melts into the polar seas. The loss of the ice causes less solar radiation to be reflected back into space causing the temperature at the poles to rise causing even more melt off.

All the extra melting ice causes the salt content of the ocean to change. This causes the normal flow of the many currents both on the surface and on the bottom of the sea to shift or slow down.

This has catastrophic world wide effects on weather so any weather event, anywhere on Earth, anytime of the year can be blamed on global warming.

OH My God we are all going to die !!!!!!

  10. the ice just makes the sea level rise thats it

    your town is just affected

  11. The melting of the polar ice in the Artic cause absolutely no effect on oceanic levels, as that ice is already in the water. However as the ice melts on the continent of Antartica and the Greenland ice sheet melts, that water flows to the oceans. This will cause a dramatic rise in oceanic levels as this ice has been sequestered from the liquid waters of the Earth for many hundreds of thousands of years. The water will eneter the oceans at a slow enough rate that general oceanic temperatures will not become affected by very much. However as the land becomes denuded of reflective ice cover, the land masses will warm the atmosphere which will further speed up the ice melt cycle. the extra water will expand the surface area of the oceans, increasing the moisture conent of the air which will affect climate in many areas of the Globe.

We have started the dominoes falling over and no one knows what's going to happen as a result of this. There are many models that have been generated but no one can predict with absolute 100% certainty.
