Where does all the timber from distroying a rainforest go?

this is for a report but i also need benefits and i REALLY need to know where all the timber goes to...like is it used for building nearby village houses?

  2. Often it is just burned down, so the natives can plant food to survive

  3. Due to over population and the need to build housing and to grow crops is one big factor in why the rain forest is being distroyed.

    Also greed is another factor that this area is being torn apart besides the big oil companies wanting a piece of the pie.

  5. mostly the timber is burned...It is called slash and burn farming..by burning the wood it puts nutrients back into the soil that make farming easier, while clearing land to farm. Unfortunately it also puts co2 in the air (released from the carbon in the trees hwen burned) the rain forest is the largest polluter of air and contributes more to green house gasses than any country (due to slash and burn and also due to the natural release of co2 when the sun goes down) however china is a close second.

    but, the majority are just burned down to be mixed in with fertilizer for crops.  

    sad, but true.
