Where does an old git of a drummer find a new band to play with in s e london /kent?

im an experienced all style drummer aged 56 trying to find a new band to play with in kent ,all the sites seem to be geared to people aged 20, and no old timers .please give sensible advise

  1. sorry i dont know but you aint an old git - my hubby is same age as you and he was a drummer too - in love with the pearl international something or other - played music of the shadows and his names rae - good luck i hope you find somewhere


  2. That's where I'm from! But I do agree, being a teenager lots of the local bands are late teens to early 20's.

    If I'm honest, I think it'll be wuite hard for you to actually find a band [but you know that already.

    I know it's a bit iffy, but lots of bands these days are getting myspaces and facebooks. If you want, create one of them, add a few friends and look around in groups [on facebook]. That's probably not the best idea though.

    If I'm honest, if you can't find a band, you can either create one, join a few of those "tribute bands" and, I personally think this is a great idea, why not try drum tuition? In schools etc, or advertise in your local newspaper.
