Where does drugs and cigarettes fit in to Maslow's hierarchy?

  1. If you are addicted, then psychologically you will believe they are basic needs and they will become more important than basic needs such as food and shelter (yes, cigarettes too).  It is possibly, when living a dysfunctional life, to fall off the hierarchy completely.


  2. the hierachy isn't that of everything in our life, just simply life in its simplest form.

  3. Nowhere, but the neutrality on the subject of others using drugs, as well as the realization that the law means nothing, fits into self-actualization.

    Also, the stuff the guy above me said is total BS. Drugs never become MORE important than the basic needs. They can, on the extreme occasion, be almost as needed but never more so. Do you really think a heroin addict would take another shot over continuing to have oxygen?
