  1. No, you can use developer-hosted sites, which deal with most of coding and storage aspect of blogs.

    Popular, free blogging services:

    Blogger/Blogspot (http://blogger.com ), Wordpress (http://wordpress.com ) and Livejournal (http://livejournal.com ).

I use Yahoo! 360 to blog (http://360.yahoo.com/kee_y360 ), although currently it has a lot of glitches including not being able to invite friends. It is a free social-networking service (like MySpace and Facebook) that features a blog. Since you have a Yahoo ID, you can probably set one up too. They'll be transitioning to a new system in the 2nd half of 2008.

While logged into a yahoo service (mail, answers, whatever), type 360.yahoo.com in your web browser's address field (or just type 360 in a Yahoo! toolbar). Start creating your 360 space from there. Click the BIG YELLOW "Get Started" BUTTON on the far right section of that page. Click the "Yahoo! 360 Home" link on the upper right corner of the page to enter the space. For more details on how to set up elements of your 360 space, see http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/360/ . Keep in mind that 360 is a beta service, so there are many bugs. If you have problems, check the Answers area or click on my avatar and scroll down to click on my "Starred Questions" tab.

See the 360 team post on "How to blog":

    Search for 360 blogs: http://360.yahoo.com/search.html .
