Where does space end? Please correct my theory?

Is space infinite?

Can you please correct my theory?

In space I believe that there are millions of galaxies, planets and living organisms beyond the milkyway. Our galaxy is just one of millions out there. On our planet-Earth as we all know by now/ are millions of living organisms including us humans. If you look at how big our galaxy is and then imagine millions of more galaxies like milky way, then look at us. Look at how small we are. Compared to everything we are merely the size of a pinhead.

Do you agree? Please list your opinion try to be kind.

  1. First off, the universe is both finite and infinite.  It sounds like a paradox, but use the earth as a model.  The earth contains a finite amount of matter, yet you can keep going around and around without reaching an edge.  This is a two-dimensional surface.

The same is true of the universe, except that it is a three dimensional surface.  Any direction you travel in, you will eventually wind up at the same point (of course, it would take probably 100 billion years to do so, but you will).  So you could travel forever.

However, there is a finite amount of stuff here (but it is A LOT of stuff!)

Now, as to other creatures--who knows?  Statistically, it seems that there might be.  Abiogenesis, however, has a lot of problems.  Just being able to randomly put together a usable protein from amino acids would take way too much time (more time than the universe has so far)  There are mechanisms at work we clearly do not understand.

From a religious standpoint, there's nothing that says there can't be alien life.  The Pope has even said that if there are aliens, they would be God's creatures as well--which is neat.  The bummer is--we haven't found any yet.

Speculation is nice, but we need evidence.

I kinda hope we find it.

  2. This is how i see it:

The bible says it took a week for god to (create the universe, create earth, create stars, create life and create humans)

Yet if you follow science you will know that homo sapiens only came to be around 30,000 years ago and civilized humans came to be about 12,000 years ago.

Dinosaurs roamed the planet millions of years before us.

The universe is like 14 billion years old I believe.

There was a point in the universe (theory that I believe)

where there was an explosion, and matter and energy where distributed and a ripple effect happened. Like when you roll a ball, the energy will keep it moving till it stops, MATTER AND ENERGY come to an end, so now our universe is expanding.

So with all the types of energies in the universe and reactions, planets, stars and life came to be, Im sure we are not alone in this universe.

And when energy runs out for good, the universe will compress again, shrink unto itself till it reaches a point where it compresses so much than another explosion occurs thus the end of this universe and the beginning of another.

Go study physics, creation, evolution, to make up your own mind one should study religion, the bible and evolution and big bang and other theories. Then put what works for you best together and try to solve the biggest mystery.

Also read some sci fi, like arthur clarke.

There is no DEFINITE answer to this question, no one can GARANTEE you an exact explanation onto how the universe got here cuz even in science one knows that nothing comes from nothing.

Zoom into the smallest particle in a cell or plant or anything and you will see tiny atoms forming what appears to be galaxies inside cells, just as if you were to zoom out of the galaxy and universe.

So maybe out universe is just an insignificant portion to a greater being or something much much greater.

Who knows? One day I hope to...

THE UNIVERSE IS INFINITE AS IT KEEPS GROWING,

MAYBE THIS UNIVERSE IS THE FIRST OR THE BILLIONTH , MAYBE THERE ARE PARALLEL UNIVERSES..

WE LIVE IN A 4 DIMENSIONAL UNIVERSE OF SPACE AND TIME YET THEORIST BELIEVE THERE MAY BE UP TO 11 DIMENSIONS AND HIGHER LEVELS OR DIMENSIONS WE CANT SEE OR ONE WHERE "GOD" OR OUR ORIGIN MAY HIDE...

  3. I have to agree with you in that fact that there are countless more galaxies in our universe alone.  Plus there are countless other universes as well.  It is well within all possibilities that we are but a mere pinhead in the big picture.  I would go so far as saying the we are not the only ones out there as well.

  4. I don't know what your theory is, but I do agree that life is abundant in the Universe.

  5. actually there's probably at minimum 50 billion galaxies. Perhaps much more.

EDIT: This estimate is around 500 billion galaxies:

  6. we are even smaller than a pin head

and about your theory its all completely true
