Where does the Student/Teacher relationship stop being a student/teacher relationship?

Okay so obviously a student/teacher relationship is wrong when you are still a student/athlete of the teacher/coach. But once you are no longer under those labels is it still considered illegal?! How long can those labels be held over your head after they are no longer active?! Do they ever go away?! Is it EVER ok?!

stop trying to either get with your teacher or get with your student.  Find some one your own age.

Yes it wrong for both the student and the teacher.  one b/c if the teach was teaching the student then they decide to go out when there 18, then guess what the teach liked you b4 you were 18 its not jut a spur of the moment thing, and that teach has no right to teaching kids when they are attrached to them.

its also wrong on the students side b/c this is more of a mentor, mentoree relation ship, and that where it should stop.  if you have an attractive teach then fine, you can stare and day dream and it should stop there.

Legally it would end when the student is no longer enrolled in the school and is over age 18. I think morally it would be ok after the student is in their late 20s or early 30s.

I have known cases where a first year teacher(22 years old) old taught a student (18 years old). They lost contact and years later met at some sort of gathering and ended up getting married.

So, in my opinion 18 to 22-26 not ok, 30 to 34-38 ok.

As long as NOTHING (phone calls, notes, nothing) starts before the student is over 18 and graduated from school, I think it's fine.

We have a teacher at my school who became interested in a student while she was a student.  He was very young at the time.

He waited until she graduated and started college before he asked her out.

They waited until she was out of college and employed before they married.

I think they're a fantastic couple.
