  1. They get their reports from the local National Weather Service office. The National Weather Service has stations set-up at various locations usually airports and they update it hourly. Then other media gets their reports and uses it for their own weather forecasts.

  4. They have people on their payroll who will check the info at the local airport or weather station and report it via phone.

  5. they do the weather dance. then the gods hit them with a stick that will tell them the weather that will happen that day.

  9. Sometimes from nearby larger towns.  I live in a small town and the weather (both current and forecast) are identical to a city 10 miles away, with a mountain range between, and significantly different weather patterns.
