Where does the (adjuster system) clip go on a 4baby monochrome car seat?

I have just bought a 4baby monochrome car seat and I'm trying to work out where the clip that adjusts the strap length goes. I cant leave it where it is at the minute cos it will be diggng in to my sons chest. The instructions booklet is not helpful at all. It just says that it goes under the base. It doesnt say how it gets there! Its really confusing me and is doing my head in! Please help! Thanks.
