I noted someone had worked out that a 2L bottle of coke contained 4.5 litres of CO2 .. thats a lot of co2 .. I wonder how much cola is consumed in a year? I bet they are responsible for a lot of global warming... nice cold icecold coke eh?

  1. They take CO2 out of the air and dissolve it in the cola under pressure. There's no net gain of CO2 in the atmosphere from the CO2 in fizzy drinks apart from that released by the energy needed to extract the CO2 in the first place.

  2. Carbonate is fizz I think!

  3. Carbon dioxide is placed in soda pops for solubility purposes. Opening the can of pop released the gas and unpressurized the can. Certainly a lot of pop is drank every year, but I don't even want to know the statistics.
