Where does the common wire on a dual run ac capacitor get connected? It came somewhere off the contactor.?

  1. On most dual run capacitors, there are three terminals. One for fan, marked F. One marked Comp. for compressor. The center terminal is the common, marked C. Be careful, they can hold a nasty shock even after the power has been disconnected.


  2. red from the top of the contactor will goto capacitor common.

    on top of the contactor, one side will have 2 red wires and the other 2 black wires.

    edit to guy below:

    its not marked COMP. its marked HERM. that stands for hermedic compressor. dont mean to be a wise azz, but  cant have you miss wiring a capacitor.
