  1. Well, there are ghosts. When you hear footsteps, the water in your sink turns on, or your radio goes off without anyone around, you will have the answer. Yep, have been in homes with ghosts. The freakiest was when I lived in a creepy house in the country. I left for a few months and came back there were foot prints on the floor going one way, the door used to open when locked, and there were weird noises. The man who lived there before committed suicide.

  2. THERE WERE MANY OLD TALES FROM FRANCE & ENGLAND ABOUT PEOPLE THAT ROSE FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE AND WOULD BE ATTACHED TO PLACES THAT THEY HELD DEAR TO AT NIGHT

  3. it's all religion-invented, gHost- aka soul of a dead person, jesus had soul no?

so some people got brainwashed so badly, they start seeing things

  4. Spiritualism

  5. I like the way you have phrased the question. The IDEA of a 'ghost' is an image of a person who has moved on. It is not necessary that the person actually be dead, but that they were in a certain place - a house, a school, a university, a palace - and have left an impression on that place. In the case of a person who has died violently, like several of King Henry VIII's wives, the deposit of energy into the very heavy walls of the palace, remain there for a very long time. For many years, the ghost of Anne Boelin (sp?) could be seen at certain places. I think that image would have dissipated by now. I haven't heard of it or about it for years.

There are numerous cases of people in old houses 'seeing' the ghost of a person - presumably a past owner or occupier, who had spent a long time there. When a murder occurs in a house, the emotions are really high on both sides, and the image stays for a long time.

What it is, is an image of the person's energy field, like an echo of a sound, which stays 'embedded' in the walls, ceiling or stairwell after the person has gone, and ads i said, they need not be dead for this to happen. What people 'see' is a mental image they have picked up from this deposit, this 'feeling that someone was here'. There are other things we can't yet explain. like movement of things, noises and other unusual happenings, but there is nothing any of these can do to kill you.

  6. Theologically speaking (the Catholic Church is the only one that has investigated this sort of phenomena with a bit of seriousness) a Ghost is a soul in Purgatory that reflects in the world with the intention of being remembered, so that people can pray for its salvation. When you're in purgatory, it's not as bad as h**l, but you still need the prayers of your dear ones to achieve grace. It's like a "last chance" room.
