In the United Kingdom...Can anyone give me a chain answer like, the cleaning man picks it up, puts it in the bin, rubbishmen come to collect it, then they go to a landfill site, something like that. I don't know the whole process so need some help. Thanks!

  1. Dan is right ,sadly most of it ends up on some river bank.  Most of the U.S.'s surface water drainage systems don't go to treatment plants they just dump in our rivers and streams.

  2. Why are you dropping litter in the streets? Or do you just mean people in general that apparently don't know what a trash receptacle is.

  3. Your question contains the answer.

  4. Where it ends up, and how it gets there, depends on what happens to it while it is lying in the street.

    Either:

The street sweeper will come by and collect it in which case it will be taken to landfill for disposal.

    or:

The rain will wash it into the storm sewers and eventually to the water treatment plant where it will be screened out, collected and eventually taken to landfill for disposal.

  5. I'll give you a generalization answer that would apply to any city street.

garbage is dropped on the street, it ends up going into a drainage pipe on the side of the road, this now can go two separate ways. 1) it should go to the waste water treatment plant and the heavy material would be screened out and put into the landfill. 2) goes straight out into where the drain water drains and collects and piles up on soem river bank

Hope that helps if you want anymore clarification lemme know
