  1. There's some amount of space used by the hard drive to do what it needs to do; housekeeping and such, keeping track of where files are stored on the disk, etc.  Don't be alarmed, it's normal.

  2. Because hard disk manufacturers are cheating scum, they don't calculate the disk space the way they should.

  3. 120*1000000000/1024/1024/1024=111.7

  4. Well it goes whereever you left it.......it is still there it is just unpartitiond. You can get software for free online that will correct this....or you can reload the OS

  5. its how drive manufacturers measure a gig which is not the same as everyone else

they measure a gig as 1,000,000,000 bytes,

where your computer measures a gig as 1,073,741,824 bytes

if you multiply the 73,741,824 difference by 120 you get the bytes that are missing
