  1. Germany

    Ireland

  2. There are several Christilaws in the 1870 census, all living in Reno, Minnesota.  The oldest is from Scotland.  There are also Christilaws in Wales and England,

  3. According to ancestry.com 83% of CHRISTILAW immigrants arriving in the United States departed from Liverpool, England and Queenstown, Ireland with the remaining 17% departing from Marseilles, France and Naples, Italy.  As far as place of origin, Germany and Ireland are listed.

But, do not discount Wales. The 1891 Wales Census has 12 people listed with this surname living in Glamorgan.  There are 8 people in Wiltshire, England according to the 1891 England Census. It seems the CHRISTILAW surname is sprinkled throughout the U.K.

Ancestry.com does not list a meaning for this surname, though.
