Where does the name Tarape orignate from?

I'm recently figuring out what kind of ethnicity I am. I know my father's ethnicity, but my mother's last name is Tarape. Is Tarape arabic, or hawaiian? My parents are filipino by the way.

***I searched and the only reference I found was Filipino, except for an immigration record for Giro Tarape in 1857 from Italy to USA.  He was born in 1841and it said his ethnicity was Italian.
