  1. There is little doubt the name Zanin is Italian !

    Tauriano di Spilimbergo

The place lies in the council of Spilimbergo, in the province of Pordone and in district Friúli Venezia-Giulia, Italy.

Tauriano originally belonged to van the noble imperial family Statilia ( nicknamed Taurus) or from tne ancient civilian family Thoria ( they had a fighting bull in their armour)

The inhabitants mainly stem from a few families:

    Martina

    Cristofoli

  2. from ancestry.com

Italian: from the personal name Z(u)an(n)i, a northeastern (Venetian) form of Gianni (from Giovanni, Italian equivalent of John). Zani or Zanni is a comic figure in the Commedia del’Arte, and the surname may be a nickname derived from this use, which is also the origin of the English word zany.
