Question:

Where does the perceived beef between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson arise from?

It's thought to originate from an interview Mickelson gave in 2003, where he suggested the golf clubs Woods uses are inferior to other clubs - a particularly weird insult, since it implies Woods is even better than his results suggest and is being hampered by his weapons of choice. The comments attracted attention partly because they were made at a time when Mickelson hardly seemed in a position to criticise - back then Woods had landed eight majors, while Mickelson had yet to win a single one (he's since won The Masters in 2004 and 2006, and the PGA Championship in 2005).
