  1. "God is in the details" - Whatever one does should be done thoroughly; details are important. The saying is generally attributed to Gustave Flaubert (1821-80)  and others, such as Michelangelo, architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe & art historian Aby Warburg.

    'The Devil is in the details' is a variant of the proverb.


  2. The phrase is "the devil is in the detail" which means that you can be caught out in your plans if you haven't gone through it looking at and ironing the tiniest points.

    I imagine if someone is using " god is in the detail" they are making a positive slant on the existing phrase in that it is a GOOD thing to check into the finest detail.
