  1. Its eroded rocks and a whole lot of tiny broken shells

  2. The sand on our beaches is caused when the top layers of land and soil is worn off by the water from the sea and washed up onto the beach. When beaches sand is made up of shells, the land nearby would be too. Adding to that the sea also washes it in onto the shore.

  3. Sand is a naturally occurring granular material composed of finely divided rock and mineral particles.

The composition of sand is highly variable, depending on the local rock sources and conditions:

The bright white sands found in tropical and subtropical coastal settings are eroded limestone and may contain coral and shell fragments in addition to other organic or organically derived fragmental material.

Arkose is a sand or sandstone with considerable feldspar content, derived from the weathering and erosion of a (usually nearby) granite.

Some sands are  derived from volcanic basalts and obsidian.

Sand is transported by wind and water and deposited in the form of beaches, dunes, sand spits, sand bars and related features.

  4. Much of the rock in the land that surrounds the seas is a type of rock called "SANDstone" and the action of waves and the constant pounding of water, will break up that sandstone into it's basic components of sand and stone

  5. the sea has crushed up rock and cliffs turning it into sand?? i think its something like that
