  1. This substance is a sugar containing secrete, similar to nectar which is produced from the first day on when the egg cell of plant is ripe ( from anthesis until the third day of the pistillate phase ). After fertilization the production is stopped.

    It is secreted by papillous cells of the pistils epidermis and effects the pollen stick on it and not to be blown away from a breath of wind or carried away from next insect. Moreover it benefits germination of pollen tube and feeds it.
