Where does the tap water in train toilets come from?

not 100 percent sure,  but I believe its a holding tank, that are refilled at stops when low with approved drinking water  you should still shudder,    thats what they are on air planes.

There are onboard fresh water tanks that are filled with clean potable water from municipal water sources.

The systems are tested and sanitized from time to time.

Much like the systems on any RV only larger.
