Where does it originate from?

'Peeing like a race horse'  is not something you are not likely to find in Bartlet's Book of Quotations.  Any one who has ever seen a race horse peeing was probably impressed and used the expression.  I have heard it expressed as ' Pee like a race horse on a flat rock', or ' Raining like a race horse....'
