  1. If you want information on every Mesoamerican ruin you can visit,  get the book:  The Complete Visitor's Guide to Mesoamerican Ruins.  It's 527 pages of directions, tips and photos.

  2. Chitzenitza is near Merida.

  3. They are all over south of Mexico.

I am giving you a link where you can see to the left of the page the main archaeology sites of Mexico:

    Best luck.

  4. Yucatan peninsula

  5. Yucatan Peninsula.

  6. Some actually in the north of Mexico too. Made by the Huastec.

  7. There are thousands of Mayan sites in Mexico, mainly in the states of Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Campeche, Chiapas.

The most famous site Chichén Itzá is located on Highway 180 between Mérida (118 km. away) and Cancún (168 km. away). Buses run from both cities, as well as from Valladolid, to the small town of Piste, 2 1/2 km. from the site.

The first site below has maps the second site has a good overview of some of the sites that are open to the public the area around Mérida.

  8. All over the Yucatan Penninsula, like Chichenitza, Tulum etc,

In the state of Chiapas like Palenque, and there is also abroad in Guatemala (TIKAL is very impresive) Belize, Honduras,

Thera are too many to count, and all over those regions.

Those are MAYAN ruins, away from there are many ohter ruins from other cultures,  the ones in the Huasteca are not mayan like some body answer before me.

  9. They were all over the central region of Mexico, from Veracruz through Mexico City and to the Pacific coast and southward from that line mostly.

  10. chichen itza is in the state of yucatan near to merida city if you are in cancun you have to travel a couple of hours by bus
