I'm going to France in the fall and I'd very much like to see the location of the WWII Gestapo prison in Amiens, France (the one the RAF bombed in order to free French resistance fighters). I know it's not there anymore, but I'd still like to see the location. Does anyone know where exactly it's located (what intersection, address, latitude/longitude, or whatever) and perhaps what's there now.

  1. The Amiens Prison site is along the Amiens to Albert road now known as the Boulevard de la Défense Passive. Exact position is unknown but there is a plaque dedicated to the aircrew who took part in the operation there. I am sure that any local guide book or, considering the way in which the locals revere the men who took part in Operation Jericho, any inhabitant would be able to pinpoint the place for you.
