I have traveled all over the eastern US and lived in a few places in the Southeastern US.

Favorites are:

#1 - Asheville, NC,,, the mountains, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the craft shoppes, The Biltmore Estate, the wines, the creeks and steams, the old country inns, the people

#2 - Williamsburg, VA,,, the history in the Colonial area as well as the surrounding plantations, the Colonial Parkway, Jamestown, Yorktown, The Mariners Museum, the variety of dining, the Williamsburg Pottery

#3 - Outer Banks, NC,,, the beaches, the villages, the history, dining, the people

#4 - Baltimore, MD,,, Inner Harbor, history, museums, the dining, day trips into DC, Ft. McHenry, the water taxies

#5 - tie with Wilmington, NC and Charleston, SC  the historic areas, the proximity to the ocean, the old bed and breakfast inns, seafood dining

Used to be an over the road truck driver and loved southern Georgia. The scenery, the people and everything. Had no idea that peach trees got that big.

I love North Carolina.  On the west is mountains and on the east is the Atlantic Ocean.
