  1. u may try one of the following

    1.SNAKE EATERS STEW

    Gather and dice (cut up) vegetables of taste or those locally available.

    Capture one boa (or snake of choice). Remove head, skin and organs. Dice meat. Size of it determines number you will need as well as number of guests and size of pot, drum (i.e. cooking container).

    Amount of vegetables should equal amount of meat. Add water enough to just cover ingredients. Season to taste with local seasonings (i.e. salt, pepper, peppers, roots...). Bring to boil, allow to simmer off of flame for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve.

    P.S. Boa or python can also be served as an appetizer (raw).

    2.COWBOY (SNAKE) CAKES

    1 rattlesnake per person

    Crab boil

    1 egg

    Salt & pepper

    Green onion

    2 tbsp. oil

    Gut the rattlesnake and peel the skin off. Cook in a crab boil (water + lemon + seed package for crab or shrimp). Cool and peel off the strips of meat. Chop and combine with egg to bind, salt and pepper and a bit of green onion. Saute in oil until brown on both sides. Serve with tartar sauce.

    RIP ROARIN' RATTLERS

    1 rattler per person

    1/2 c. tomato chow chow

    1 tbsp. chili powder

    1 tbsp. oil

    1 tbsp. molasses

    2 tbsp. finely grated green pepper

    Salt & pepper to taste

    Juice of 1 lemon

    2 tbsp. Worcestershire

    Wash, dry and cut snake into 4 inch pieces. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and allow meat to marinate for 2 hours. Lay snake on grill and cook slowly, basting frequently. Serve when tender.

    CHOCOLATE CRICKETS

    2 c. sugar

    2/3 c. cream

    2 oz. unsweetened chocolate

    Salt to taste

    1/8 tbsp. butter

    1 tsp. vanilla

    1/2 c. dry roasted crickets, chopped (see note)

    In a saucepan, mix sugar, cream, chocolate and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until chocolate is melted and sugar is dissolved. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until candy thermometer reads 234 degrees, or until a small amount of mixture forms a ball when dropped into ice water.

    Remove mixture from heat and add butter. Cool mixture to 120 degrees without stirring. Add vanilla and beat vigorously with a wooden spoon until candy is thick and no longer glossy, about 7-10 minutes. Stir in insects. Spread evenly in a buttered loaf pan. Cook until firm. Cut into 2-inch squares.

    NOTE: Walnuts can be substituted for the insects, if desired.

    Celery

    Wild mushrooms

    Juniper berries

    Wild Turkey

    Mouse sauce

    Oil

    Marinate skinned tenderized rat in juniper berries, wild turkey, thyme, onions, celery and carrots for 8 hours. Drain, pat dry, sear disjointed rat in hot oil in skillet, add marinade and simmer until reduced by half. Add mouse sauce and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve with orzo pasta and cheese bread.
