  2. The first edition of the Philippine Electrical Code Part 1 was published in 1962 under the sponsorship of the Philippine Association of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers (PAMEE). Prior to the adoption of the new Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), the National Electrical Code of the United States was the accepted electrical safety standard in the country. However, not all rules were applicable to local conditions. So there was a need to prepare a Philippine Electrical Code. It was adopted by the Board of Electrical Engineering Examiners in Board Resolution No. 9 dated November 27, 1962 and approved by the Civil Service Commission/Board of Examiners.

The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. (IIEE), an organization accredited by PRC publishes and distributes the Installation Code.

Full contents of PEC cannot be found in websites.   You can buy the PEC 2000 Edition or its latest edition at IIEE office:

    IIEE Tel. # (632) 727-3552/727-3558

    e-mail: iiee@skyinet.ph
