We have a young family so we need somewhere with decent schools, somewhere where we would feel safe in our home and the house needs to be detached in a suburb area

  2. That might be a good one to ask the Realtor.

There are lots of choices that fit your description.  Newer suburbs exist in all quadrants of the city.

  3. We lived in Calgary for two years and lived in the NW.  We lived in an area called Tuscany and it was really family oriented.  We never experienced any problems with neighbours or crime.  We really miss it.  A good realtor will help you find a great neighbourhood for you and your children.

  4. Safe, detached and decent schools?  Try McKenzie Towne.  It's not that far from everything.  Every store you might need is on 130ave (1 block north of McKenzie Towne).  There are good schools around and there is a new k-5 school being built for 2010 depending on how old your kids are.

Here's some links for you to look at:

McKenzie Towne is directly beside Deerfoot Trail.  It takes me about 15 minutes to get to Country Hills Blvd exit (off peak hours)

The neighbourhood is safe and kind.  The people are nice and there are some nice parks walking distance to almost every street in the neighbourhood.

    I hope this helps.
