  1. Santa Cruz or Manhattan Beach.

  2. i say Laguna beach is the nice beach for relaxation

  3. cristal cove by farrrrr its a beach thats not that big and not may people no about it but the waves are like amazing!!!!! there hugge

  4. Ok...here it is.  I can help you on this one since i live in the OC and Ive been surfing here for 15 years now.

The best place for a beginner is Huntington Pier in Huntington Beach. The water is not very clear due to some reasons you dont really wanna know but it wont affect you. Great waves for beginners and then afterwards....the food places are gnarly!

    You will have a blast.

  5. I hate the place, but Pacifica is really good for beginners. It's not a long paddle, it's easy to get back out. Temp isn't too bad, and it's such a long beach the wait is almost non-existant.

  6. welll, Malibu is a really nice spot, but if you going down to san Diego id recommend la jolla or oceanside! they have great beaches with great surf!

  7. San Onofre it is really easy and really fun.

  8. go 2 hunnington beach its really cool

  9. Cowells in Santa Cruz. Don't go anywhere else in the area, including Monterey-Carmel-Big Sur neck of the woods, very local, and you want your son to be stoked on surfing, not worrying about his dad getting into a fight, because youre "out of towners."

  10. sunnybeach, point conseption (u cant have fear) a lot of places in northern ca

  11. A good place to learn is at San Onofre State Campground south of San Clemente.

The waves are fairly mellow, the beach is spread out, and the crowd is friendly.

You do not want to go to stand-out spots as you will only get in the way and will not have any fun.

You can camp there or stay at a motel in nearby San Clemente, which is a great surf town.

    p.s.

The fall is the best time to surf in SoCal

  12. man...la jolla shores in la jolla (san diego) and old man's (san clemente) are the two best for beginners cuz the waves are nice and mellow bu the shores can be dank sometimes :[

  13. I suggest you go to a good beach break where you can walk out on sand rather then rocks, where the crowds aren't large, and where the waves are easy to catch and ride on most swells.  I would say Huntington Beach at Bolsa Chica State Beach.  It's usually a good beginner break.
