Where in Europe would I find this?

Where in Europe would I find a cold, green, mountainous, reasonably remote - or at least non-tourist orientated - inhabitable area with lots of forests? Is that too ideal, or is there anywhere at all like that in Europe, any country or region or state fitting that description? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  1. sweden or norway would fit the bill

  2. Poland or southern Germany

  3. The Julian Alps area in the northern part of Slovenia is exactly what you're looking for!

  4. You will find it in many parts of northeast Finland, also in many parts of the Finnish Lapland, if you avoid the tourist areas. Finland is actually a pretty large country, but has only a little over 5 million people, so you will find peace and quiet here. There are a lot of forests in Finland, over 20.000 seas and a lot of inhabitable areas, as more and more people move to the south of Finland.

The description of what you want to experience suits the areas of Finland I mentioned perfectly.

Welcome to Finland, I´m pretty sure you will not be disappointed!

  5. Southern Germany sounds just what you are looking for
