Just met a new friend. She is from Ireland. She likes to say

"y'know". What part of Ireland do people say "y'know"?

i live in Ireland, everyone says that phrase from time to time.  I could tell by her accent though, if I heard it.

That expression is common throughout the country. If you want to place a person witthout asking them where they are from, you do it by accent.
