  1. I don't think there is anywhere you can't 'survive' on that much. I live in San Jose, Costa Rica and the average wage here is about 200 a month. So you would have far above the average local's income. Rent is cheap for a simple place and food and transportation are no problem. I think anyplace except the most expensive beach resorts would be affordable if you truly live a simple life. The question is what you want to do once you get here. That's more important than cost of living, which will be reasonable no matter where you go.

  2. I personally know of many people in most of the countrys in central american that are living on less than $100 a month. Not by choice but by necessity. So if you have $750 a month to live on, feel blessed!

  3. I would have to agree that anywhere but you would live very frugally!! A very small apartment in Lima, (in a safe neighbourhood though) will cost around 200 or 150, the rest would be for the basic things like water, electricity and food. Not much, although 80 percent of the people in South America live with less than 200 a month.

  4. aNYWHERE

yOU WILL HAVE NO RUNNING WATER AND EAT RICE AND BEANS EVERYDAY

  5. You could make it through life in Colombia. With COP $ 1'451,250  a month you could rent a flat and sort out your food + transport and entertainment, and still have money in your pocket - especially anywhere but Bogota or Cartagena.

  6. colombia

  7. 85% of latin america, you gotta keep in mind that in most countries 1 US dollar worth somthing between 3 and 11 times, sayinfg that any where is pretty affordable i would consider Mexico as your best choise,  Mexico is natural neighbor of US airfares are pretty accecible i would consider some of this cities ... Queretaro (its a city like san diego large in bussiner, huge history, lots of things to do and lots of US brands like SAMS, STRBUCKS, BURGER KING and COSTCO), GUANAJUATO, guanajuato this is one of the most beautiful cities in the world according the UN, culturally awasome, pretty lean back scene, and the last one SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE, GUANAJUATO, I there for a long time and i can tell you that is the most beatiful city in mexico, full of life, and fun all the cities that i mention before are around 45 minuts away of this city, a large comunity of americans, canadians and euripoeans are established in this town, for that reason SMA is well know for warm people and interesting cultural events , you would not found any trouble trying to comunicated with people since a lot of them speak english, all the bar and fun dtuff to do are located in walking areas in downtown from all of this cities this one is a little more expensive but totally worth it, i hope you find this interesting, by the way al this places are pretty affordable you will still have enough money to explore any other city if you want to, if you dont really spend your money you can live there for around 400-500 a month

  8. I'd suggest avoiding Brazil, Argentina, and Chile because they tend to be a tad pricier than other Latin American countries.  Other than that you could definitely survive wherever you please in Latin America.  Enjoy!

  9. Mexico, for that money you can have a house including a driver and a housekeeper, goggle San Pedro, Mexico
