know I'm asking for a lot of crude comments from amateur comedians out there with this question, but I am curious about this. One always associates the image of Liverpool with its working-class citizens, but surely there must be at least pockets of educated, middle-class professionals living in Merseyside. What neighbourhoods would this clas of people reside? What shops, pubs, and restaurants around Merseyside are people of this class most apt to patronise? What are some of the institutions they would hold dear? I'm thinking of people who hold professions such as doctors, lawyers, university academics, architects, high level civil servants, business executives, business proprieters, bankers, etc..

Let me also assure you all I am not a social climbing snob. I ask these questions because I will be doing a sociological study at uni next term, and I am not from Liverpool, so I would really appreciate some local insight into thoughts and patterns of social class in L'pool. Ta!
