  1. Well I've never been personally but the most unusual place in London I've ever heard of is a restaurant called Dans Le Noir, where your waiter/waitress is blind and you eat your meal in total darkness, guided by your server.   Apparently it's an amazing experience and one that a lot of people recommend.  One of the most unusual aspects is the surprise menu; you have no idea what you're going to be eating and obviously can't see the food when it arrives at the table!  Intruiguing.....

  2. I love the Sir John Soane Museum.  Close by is the 'Old Curiosity Shop' a tiny building amongst tall ones which supposedly was the inspiration for the Dicken's classic.  Opposite Sir John Soane's is the Royal College of Surgeons museum which is open to the public.  All are free.

There is also the Wallace collection in Manchester Square.

  3. hampstead heath on a Sunday afternoon after lunch its beautiful and has fantastic views over central London and it is so peaceful which makes really unusual form the rest of London because the rest of London is all ways busy 24/7 hope this helps :)

  4. In Tower Hill, near the Tower of London, is a strange, small round building about 7 feet in diameter. There is another one the same at Southwark at the other side of the river. This was the entrance to the world's first tube railway where people were winched in carts by ropes under the Thames.

  5. try the whispering gallery up in the dome of St Paul's Cathedral

  6. Go to London dungeon, its woooow

  7. saatchi gallery...some really cool modern art.

  8. a great alternative shopping location is camden market

directions: when at london charing cross station, get the northern line north bound underground train. it will stop at camden town. this is where to get off. you can catch northern line south bound underground train via charing cross to get back.

its a fantastic shopping location, sample foods from all over the world and enjoy a friendly atmosphere. it offers alternative, vintage, new, old, any style of clothes, plus anything you could ever wish to buy at any price. dont forget to haggle for what you buy at the stools!

its a real must-do, and isnt your usual shopping location

  9. The Horniman museum in East Dulwich is nice.  A huge collection of things from an eccentric collector, some nice gardens, a healthy cafe and some animals to look at.  Battersea children's zoo is great if you've got kids - in Battersea Park (Battersea Park train station for this).  The Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood is great for "oh I used to have one of those when I was a kid!" moments.  Tube Bethnal Green for this.  A canal cruise round Little Venice is always fun and not always something people think about.  See London from another angle.  Canary Wharf although mainly for business people is all modern and angular glass and steel and has some pretty good bars and restaurants too.  Worth a trip out on the DLR just to see it.  If you get as far as Mudchute then there is an animal park out there.  greenwich foot tunnel is a good walk and great fun to go under the Thames.  Kingston-Upon-Thames (trains from Waterloo / Clapham Junction) is good for shopping and has some lovely winding streets which go down to the river where you can have a drink or a meal surrounded by literally hundreds of swans.  Wimbledon is nice, great common, lovely shops, Wimbledon village is posh shops and you can always visit the tennis grounds too.
