I have an old blaunkpunt record player (c. 1965) and Im unsure of how to play records on it. I think the link between the record player and speakers may be broken or I just don't know how to use it correctly

  1. Find a local audiophiles bulletin board and post the message there.  I am sure you will find someone local who can help you.

If that is not a solution, then search for a stereo repair center, starting with your local yellow pages.  Search for a place that specializes in on site repairs rather than a place that just sends it out.

In Dublin CA, there is Stereo Doctor, who is very very good, but I am not sure you want to ship it across country or not.

If it is 1965 era, then it probably has a drive wheel to turn the platter. Most likely, that will need to be replaced, as they never seem to age well.  But, it is usually an inexpensive replacement.

Also, please note: If this is a tube unit, then make sure you give it a lot of time to warm up and turn on.  Don't wait less than 5 minutes!
