Where in Manhattan can I dock a boat briefly in order to pick someone up, other than the 79th St. boat basin?

We are going to pick someone up in Manhattan and wanted to use our speed boat to do it, but have been unable to locate a dock where we could pull up for 15 - 30 minutes. I hear the 79th St. boat basin is quite rocky and thus not a good option.

You can go to the Chelsea piers at 23rd st on the hudson.  They will charge you $20 to do a pick up.  The 79th st boat basin is fine, you give the guy there $10 and he'll let you pick people up.  Hope that heps.

How about downtown at Battery Park. There's docks all along there up to the Fulton Fish Market
